OUR PROCESS
We want to assure our Tā Moko clients of a stringent commitment to exemplary standards of hygiene and safety practices ensuring both the safety of our clients and Tā Moko practitioner Simon within the work environment.
On the day of your appointment Simon will provide you with information relating to the design and its meaning pertaining to you. A karakia (prayer) in Māori will then take place to acknowledge the elements and origins of Tā Moko and bless the journey of both the Tā Moko practitioner and the wearer before the inking application process begins.
Through this special experience, customers will come away feeling enlightened and satisfied with their unique experience of their very own Tā Moko.

Recently I received my Tā Moko by local Maori artist Simon Te Wheoro in Whaingaroa (Raglan, NZ).
Now, entrusting someone to design and tattoo myself is not something I take lightly. Can I tell you, Simon is the most professional and reassuring person you’ll ever meet. After providing Simon details of my Maori Whakapapa, Simon designed my Tā Moko, stepped me through the process and explained the significance of each part of my design providing me peace of mind.
After my Tā Moko was complete I could not be happier. It was indeed a life changing moment for me to acknowledge my Maori heritage. A special mention must be for Simon’s Mum. She made me feel at home and always greeted us with a smile.
I can’t recommend Simon Te Wheoro enough. A fantastic experience from a truly talented artist.
